Katerina Exakoustidou is a medical tourism entrepreneur with extensive experience in the healthcare field. She started her working career in a large private hospital of Athens by providing host, procedural and follow-up services to patients on a daily basis.
Following this, Katerina continued to acquire valuable experience in the healthcare industry working as an international patient coordinator by providing full treatment and vacation plans to international patients. The daily contact with the patients -national and foreign- developed the need to offer more simplified processes and to support them in the best possible way.
Katerina graduated from Communication and Mass Media with emphasis in Advertising and Public Relations at the Panteion University in Athens, Greece and also holds an MBA degree.
His priority as the co-founder of this company is to offer the best of medical services for people in need.
Akis Pantazis is an Economist with a BSc in Economic Science from the Department of Economics of the University of Ioannina, in Greece. He has many years of experience in the consulting field as he has participated in various projects and programs, co-financed by the European Union’s Community Suppport Framework and its National Strategic Reference Framework. He has also taken part in organizing, managing and evaluating a series of projects for large Greek companies and hospitals. Akis experienced medical tourism early in his life as at the age of 20, he had to travel from Ioannina, his birthplace, to Athens, a lot of times in order to have therapies for an early diagnosed Hodgkin’s disease. Through this experience he obtained a valuable insight about the needs and psychology of a medical tourist.
As a member of the Board of Directors of Vitabroad, he will empower the alternatives of the international patients and their insurance providers.
George Kotsalos began his career in the insurance sector in 1976 and held top management positions at major insurance companies, last being the CEO of Interamerican – Achmea’s subsidiary company in Greece and the market’s top health and property/casualty private insurer – for 12 years.
He is currently the chairman of Dogus Hellas.
He has served three times as President of the Hellenic Association of Insurance Companies (EAEE) and twice as member of the Strategic Board of Insurance Europe(ex CEA). He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Belgian Insurance firm AVERO in Brussels and is currently a member of the board of EUREKO SIGORTA in Turkey which, like Interamerican belongs to the Achmea Group. He is a founding member of the Leadership Section of EEDE (Hellenic Management Association), a member of the Board of Directors of SEV (Hellenic Federation of Enterprises) and a founding member of the EYE Foundation. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors and currently a member of He.D.A., the Hellenic-Dutch Association of Commerce and Industry and a member of the board of the American Hellenic chamber of trade and Hellenic-Chinese Chamber of Commerce. He was named ‘Manager of the Year 2011’ (an EEDE award).
He completed his business studies at the London School of Foreign Trade and holds an Associateship of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
As a member of the Board of Directors of Vitabroad, he is eager to strengthen the opportunities of international patients to receive quality and affordability in the healthcare.
Frank Grootenhuijs has studied Economics, Finance and Cultural Anthropology in the Netherlands. He has been working for many years in the insurance business in the Netherlands, Greece and Switzerland as project and line manager, with a strong focus on international health and pension business.
From a young age he has been traveling around the world and this gave him -beside great memories- interesting experience with local hospitals and doctors in Asia, Africa and South-Central America. His business and private experience resulted to the belief that the private health services in Greece are from a high quality, with relative low prices and therefore he believes that Medical Tourism is logic.
Her priority, as a Health Tourism Specialist of this company, is to create trust between international patients and Greek heathcare providers
Maria Kalagbor is a biomedical laboratory technician, graduated from the department of biomedical science from the university of West Attica of Athens and she holds a second degree in biology science from the American college of Greece. She started her career in 2008 in the health department of one of the largest maternity hospitals, clinics and research centers in Athens, as a coordinator officer and physician assistant to national and international patients. Her involvement with medical tourism industry started in 2014, by attending seminars. She is currently holding a medical tourism certificate making her having a highly experience in the field of medical tourism abroad, as she believes that Greece has highly standards in the health tourism industry.
